Main duties included providing complete bid packages to internal sales force for individual system and complete turnkey solutions in Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, Public Address, Security, CCTV, MATV, CATV, Voice and Data. Estimates included amounts in excess of $250.000.00. Used bid specifications and blueprints to develop a competitive bid in both the public and private sector. This also includes Government and Educational contracts. Assisted with and independently developed contract verbiage for the installation department to address installation requirements and obligations.
Assisted regional and branch management when the Installation
Manager left the company by acting as temporary Installation Manager with regard
to administration and project coordination. Performed all duties required of
the Installation Manager within the Simplex structure. This included project
tracking, revenue recognition, profit and loss reconciliation, sales and profit
forecasting, manpower loading, invoicing, AP, and AR. This was for a 3-month period from January
2000 to March 2000.
Design Built and Valued Engineered Voice
and Data projects for small to large projects. Large projects consisted of
drops in excess of 500 drops and up to 500 users nodes both voice and data.
Estimate figures per project exceeded $100,000.00. This included private sector
as well as government and educational projects.
Tracked, staged, and delivered Simplex
equipment in warehouse and to various jobsites. Used Company On-Line system to
track, order, cost and reconcile Simplex equipment orders for each project.
Maintained shipping and receiving databases to reflect incoming shipment and
delivered or staged product.
Managed upcoming and ongoing installation
projects. Used custom designed software and spreadsheets in Excel to track and
forecast materials, labor, costs, and profit. Administered and maintained
tracking information including manpower loading, installation costs, equipment
and material markup and profit, department profit and loss, and employee
scheduling. Assisted in using project tracking to maintain and regulate revenue
recognition and billing variance. Maintained cost variances by monitoring and
scheduling ship dates of equipment and materials to ship within installation
timeframes to insure timely and correct billing and invoicing to customers.
Maintained company required overhead and profit margin by streamlining material
and labor issues. Scheduled deliveries and manpower to meet contractor and
project timelines and deadlines.
Developed, implemented and maintained a
purchase order database system for project and cost center purchases of
materials. P.O. database was developed in Filemaker
Pro and is designed to insure that no duplicate P.O.s
are issued. P.O.s are directly traceable to each
project and fully integrates into Microsoft Office Products.
Placed orders using the P.O. system to
various vendors and suppliers for project material fulfillment. Insured that
material costs did not exceed estimated cost by use of project tracking and
accountability. Interacted with vendors to negotiate best pricing and
availability of materials. Maintained Estimate Tool databases to reflect
current labor and material pricing.
Project Managed installation projects by producing daily status
reports including but not limited to construction schedules and timelines,
project issues and delays, sub-contractor and owner deficiencies and delays,
and any other issues or problems that may occur. Created RFI’s,
RFQ’s, Addenda, Response Letters and any and all
correspondence to and from sub-contractors and upper tier contractors in
regards to the project. Designed, Created, and Implemented multi-layered and
linked shared Excel spreadsheets for project tracking and cost analysis.
Spreadsheets were interlinked and networked to other spreadsheets and documents
for complete information rollover for analysis and updates. Implemented network
access for multi-user input for real-time information and progress.
Attended and represented the installation
department at job walks and contractors meetings. Conducted site surveys and
developed reports based on information gathered, to be used by the installation
and engineering department to develop bid packages, shop and site drawings,
design builds and documentation. Assisted sales and engineering departments by
creating design built data and voice systems for shop and contract drawings.
Adhered to and implemented cost saving strategies while maintaining
telecommunication and data standards within the industry. Used methods and
standards presented by EIA/TIA and BICSI for models. Provided value added
design and engineering for voice and data systems for sales teams.
Managed and implemented Simplex
Installation Department’s Safety Program. Responsible for training and guidance
to field installers for OSHA safety compliance. Conducted on-site inspections

Currently, I own and operate a Computer
Consulting firm based in Fresno, CA. Our service area extends from the Central
San Joaquin Valley of California to the Central Coast of California. I am the
owner and sole proprietor of this company and have been successful in the
development and implementation of this company. I currently have 10 clients
that I service on a regular basis and I also provide complete turnkey solutions
for data and voice communications. My clients include private sector as well as
government and education entities. My business includes all phases of network
data and voice communication as well as design and engineering of these systems
and custom software solutions.
I also custom build and implement complete
computer solutions. I have experience in and am able to provide the following
services. Network Administration, Network Design, Custom Computer Solutions,
Custom Software, LAN/WAN Design & Engineering, Data & Communication
Consulting, Web Page & Site Design, Telecommunication Design and
Engineering, Complete Installation of all the above systems. I also provide
support, repair, and testing of customers existing systems.

Senior Cable Technician / Computer Support / Administration / MIS
October 1996 to December 1998
Managed and administered the company's
Internet Servers and ISP client base as well as the company Intranet using
Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Server and Microsoft Exchange Server for Internet and
Intranet Mail. The Internet servers were running FreeBSD and UNIX as server
administration software. Maintained and serviced multiple dedicated clients
remotely, via ISDN and wireless link through the Internet. Monitored and
maintained the company's web site as Webmaster. Wrote small backup script in
UNIX for Internet servers to back up data on a daily basis.
Managed all phases of the Cabling Division
of the Fresno branch office for the Bakersfield based corporate office. Created
and maintained job tracking including costing, manpower, and correspondence.
Handled all phases of the business including sales, billing, client calls,
quality assurance, customer relations, advertising, cold calls, and research.
Generated reports for the corporate office. Scheduled manpower and resources
for projects and maintained costs to meet company profit margin guidelines.
Project managed and assisted in all phases
of network cabling including cable pulling and termination, testing and
troubleshooting, with emphasis on final setup and configuration of the LAN and
WAN. This included Category 5, Fiber Optic, ISDN, T1, Wireless, and related
systems. Project managed multiple cabling projects involving high drop counts
in excess of 1000 drops and crews of 6 or more.
Provided computer and network support for
a large government entity consisting of over 600 workstations. Installed and
configured all software needed for all users to use the network. Used DOS,
Windows 3.X, Windows 95, UNIX, and Novel NetWare as tools. Provided support for
the WAN and LAN related to troubleshooting and repair. Installed in excess of
200 new workstations provided by the client and installed
and configured each user on the network.
Rebuilt or upgraded 200 more users and installed and configured users to access
the network. Configured workstations to run across multiple platforms and
protocols including an AS400 server and Novell NetWare using Windows 95.
Developed complete bid packages using
blueprints and bid specifications to estimate and submit competitive bids to
various government and private sector clients for all phases of network cabling
and telephone systems. Responsible for estimating bids and quotes and writing
contract verbiage and bid specifications involving bids and contracts up to 1
million dollars. Specialized in schools and educational contracts involving
copper with fiber optic backbone and connectivity to a wireless WAN. Serviced
and maintained services on both the LAN and WAN for the client. Installed and
maintained multiple protocols including AppleTalk over Ethernet, TCP/IP,
Ethernet, and IPX/SPX. Worked in conjunction with a major fire alarm and
detection device company to develop complete bid packages for various alarm and
paging systems including fire alarm, nurse call, paging, intrusion and panic
alarms, clock and bell systems, video, and smoke and heat detection systems.
Designed and developed MATV/CATV systems
for various clients both commercial and private. Designed, Engineered, and Implemented
complete LAN, Voice, Video, and Alarm systems as a turnkey solution. This
included conduit, both underground and overhead, PVC, EMT, and Rigid for
multiple school districts. Used Visio as engineering and design tool to create
CAD drawings and site plans.

Used basic to advanced programming skills in Dbase, Fox BASE,
Basic, and Visual Basic to assist in a team project for a medical insurance
provider. Developed the GUI for data entry and set relationships to the SQL
server for user input. Project consisted of RDBMS for input and tracking of
patient information.
Taught office staff user skills in Word for Windows, Excel,
FoxBASE, and various Windows programs. Maintenance and execution of a farm
labor contractor payroll system including custom FoxBASE program use and
maintenance, and accounting procedures.
Designed and built complete computer systems according to
customers specifications. Troubleshot and repaired all types of computer
problems ranging from complete system replacement to minor upgrades. Responsible
for all in house and off site client computer repairs and maintenance including
networked and
stand-alone PC systems. Troubleshot and repaired customer and
in-house software problems and customized user applications. Assisted as a

Designed and developed a Payroll Accounting program for Windows
for an in-house team project, using Visual Basic. Designed program in Visual
Basic using existing databases in FoxPro and Access. Used VBAssist,
VBDataWidgets, and VBDesignWidgets
as tools for development. Set relationship between databases (4GL's) and Visual
basic with SQL.
Accounting Assistant to the company's controller. Assisted in all
areas of corporate accounting including
GL / AP / AR / and Payroll. Used various accounting software
packages including The American Contractor, Excel, and an in-house custom
payroll package developed for use with a farm labor contractor.
Developed formulas in Excel for profit and loss statements and
tracking. Responsible for a weekly payroll for a Farm Labor contractor as a
full charge accountant with payroll for up to 500 employees per week.
Responsible for data input and printout of payroll checks and distribution of
payroll to the contractor. Responsible for filing of all related payroll taxes
and bank deposits. Handled all related banking and accounting for the
contractor.
Helped to start a cabling company for the parent company DLS
Computer Consultants. The new company was called New Image Cabling.
Responsibilities included installation of new network cable (Category 5 and
Fiber Optic) and termination of the cable. As Inventory Control Manager was
responsible for all parts and company equipment. Developed, implemented and
maintained an inventory control program using custom and "off the
shelf" software to track and order parts and supplies for the cabling
company. Used a PO system for ordering and receiving parts and supplies.
Maintained a database of all parts for job costing and tracking. Worked closely
with the accounting department for job tracking, profit and loss and general
accounting. Developed and implemented an equipment check-out system to control
all company assets and maintain company equipment for loss prevention and
maintenance.

March 1990 to January 1991
Responsible for producing and airing a 6 Hour live radio show
nightly on 101.1 KSXY-FM in Fresno, Ca. Duties included maintaining a broadcast
log and playlist sheet, custom music mixing for the
listening audience, producing and voicing live 30 - 60 second advertiser spots
and promo's, and custom advertising
production. Fill-in personality on KFIG-AM 1340 oldies, the sister
AM station of KSXY. Experience in various electronic and computerized mixing
boards and production equipment used to produce commercials and the nightly
show. Participated in live on-site remote broadcast promos with listener
participation and remote engineering. Assisted in parent company television
advertising production and voice over. Wrote radio and television advertising
copy for use in production of live and taped spots. Copy was self generated and
adhered to time and product liability constraints.
Provided technical support for the stations computers and
printers. Assisted in development of the stations computerized playlist program and database, which allowed user
customization of music formats and commercials. Serviced and maintained all
computer systems for the station on an as need basis.
